Fun Center Amstelveen is a Family Entertainment Center with multiple leisure activities, both indoor and outdoor, all under one roof. Including Jumping on the insane trampoline park, Laser gaming in the abandoned New York Harbor area, Indoor Golf on the world’s top 42 courses and singing in the state-of-the-art Karaoke Party Room, the Fun Center has a good diversity of activities for children, youth and adults alike. Outdoor the center expanded in 2017 to include swimming and supping and a crazy catering facility floating in Amstelveen’s Poel ( Poel’s Up).

 

Fun Center Amstelveen is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Operational Manager with leadership skills.

 

Our company vision is to provide several hours of entertainment with multiple entertainment activities with a high experience content, for both families with children, schools, groups and businesses. One is immersed in quality, service and fun, so to speak.

As operations manager, you are ultimately responsible for the perfect operation of the Fun Center, both indoor and outdoor. You watch over the budget and make sure you meet the center’s bottom line.

In addition to your role as operations manager, you will work as a cooperating foreman/foreman during operations and motivate your team to give every visitor “the ultimate entertainment experience.

 

As operations manager, you will report to the management and be the first point of contact for employees. You will be responsible for organizing, performing and processing all occurring activities. You will also be responsible for improving internal processes and promoting growth through internal sales.

 Operational Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and process all activities, actions and events
  • Host(s) during the execution of events
  • Communicating the company vision and mission
  • Lead, inspire and be visible to all employees
  • Ultimately responsible for the margins of activities, actions and events
  • Communication with suppliers, w.o.w. purchasing arrangements, logistics, etc.
  • Contribute to the development of strategy and tactics
  • Optimization of existing business processes, quality of services
  • Supervise and coach employees and ensure optimal environmental conditions to do their jobs.
  • Achieve the predetermined operating result in the various result areas.
  • Analyzing results, including the correct formatting of staff quotas and utilization
  • Presenting periodic management information and advising on areas for improvement.
  • Devise and follow up (execute) local commercial initiatives.

Key attributes/job requirements:

  • Minimum MBO/HBO working and thinking level, for example in the direction of hotel, facility or communication management.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience as an operations manager in the entertainment, leisure or hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of social legislation, financial management and safety and prevention systems
  • You work results-oriented, come up with innovative ideas and always keep an eye on costs.
  • Organizing is really in your blood, as is smooth communication.
  • You have a positive attitude and can handle unforeseeable circumstances well.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities
  • Stress resistant and accurate
  • Alert and decisive
  • Availability of own transportation
  • Living within a radius of no more than 30 minutes one way from the Fun Center Amstelveen
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages both written and oral
  • Also available on weekends and holidays if the situation calls for it

 

What does Fun Center Amstelveen offer you?

  • The position is based on 40 hours per week, Evt. Part-time for a minimum of 24 hours
  • It is initially a contract for 6 or 12 months, but with proven suitability and unchanged business conditions contract extension is a possibility.
